You might consider Etap, which is similar to an American-style hotel chain. The rooms are small and generic, but clean and fully equipped with a shower, toilet, and TV. (Not that you're likely to want to watch much TV while visiting the City of Lights, mind you.) I stayed at the one near the Porte de Montreuil about 4 years ago and was satisfied. The Etap hotels near Porte d'Orléans, Porte de Vanves, and Issy-les-Moulineaux are in nicer areas but probably more expensive as well. |

Hotel Henri 4 is indeed a well located family hostel, but there are more in Paris. Make sure you book in advance as the cheaper hotels are rather small and do not have many rooms available. |

First you need to know which area you want to stay in.
Then use this tool to filter by price, star rating, location and name the hotel of your choice. Check if you can choose the last minute or year round discount prices.
Then dig in behind the results to reveal if there are any special inclusions like breakfast and use of facilities tha suit you.
Remember, hostels are per person - hotels are per room and better value at the budget end. Paris is expensive, so anything under 100 euros is a bargain - but check out the photos.
