I don't know if I'd call them "must-see spots", but here are some places I had a good time:
The Chateau de Vincennes at the end of the #1 Metro line.
La Defense at the other end of the #1 line.
The wonderful maze of narrow streets in the Marais (3eme arrondissement).
The neighborhoods south of Gare de Montparnasse, near the Pernety Metro stop (#13).
Of course the neighborhoods around the Sacre Coeur basilica.
The little alleyway that leads from Blvd. St. Germain up towards the Seine. |

Hi,,,, I suggest 2 things that most tourists do not do......most of the time.....
Go to the Moulon Rouge,,, and go to visit the grave of Jim Morrison......both are great...... get the tickest for Moulon from your hotel....they can order for you ,, I believe,,,,and a cab ride to the cemetary is what I suggest......again ,, ask the concerje at the hotel.....they can guide you ......
have fun........ |

-if you have extra time (and money) go to south france, especially the provence region. The small towns there are so beautiful, and the roman ruins and amazing. |

There are many places in Paris that are not "very touristy". One of my favorite places is the "Father Lachaise Cemetary" (see the first link).
You can spend a whole day there to see the graves of some of the most famous peole in the world.
IF you are American (I assume), you will find the Paris markets fascinating, there are so many of them to list here. you can find some info about them on the second link I put here. If you like food, I would really recomend the "Marche Richard Lenoir".
There are so many other places that it is hard to list them here.
Cheers,
