Are you posting this on the French travel question because this friend is French?
Anyway, you have to become a good gate keeper. Your time is valuable too you and it is up to you to decide how you will spend it. So here are a few tips.
If you don't have caller id on your phone, get it. If she calls and you don't want to answer it - that is what voice mail is for. Why do you have to rush to pick the phone and put off your schedule just because someone decides they want to call you? Only call back if you want to. If you stop returning calls - this person will get the hint.
If you do talk to her - limit the time of the call. Inform her that you have other stuff to do, thank her for her time and hang up.
Let her know when it is convenient for you to talk. It can be between 5 and 6 or maybe 2 days from now or when ever. You pick. Stop handing over hours of time just because she calls. You have the power to choose.
All these rules apply to for actions in person. Choose to limit your time or cut it off all together.
You have surrendered control of your time. Learn to take charge of it. |
