I need ideas for a French Project please?

simply put I need to write 1,500 words in an essay form about an event including details about the build up to it

it cant be just descriptive it needs ot be descriptive and analytical but to the point with no waffle but I dont know of any local markets or festivals that happen in france so could someone please tell me about some french festivals and at least tell me or give me links to where I can find out more information about them?

There is something called 'Fête de la Musique' which is country-wide and a pretty big deal. The closing event in Paris is televised. Also it's a fairly new thing so no tons of history to get through.
