We came to Spain from Scotland with our dog and 2 cats and had no problems. Campanile have places throughout France and are not expensive. www.campanile.com

The other answers are probably right. But you should also bear in mind that you will have trouble taking your dog from France to England on the way to Scotland.

Most hotels in France will accept a small well behaved dog. If you are travelling with 2 wolf hounds or equivalent best to phone the hotel in advance & explain the situation.

Mainly gites could be good, B&B's don't like dogs generally
