I need to get from Bergerac to Bordeaux, is this possible? |
Going to France to visit friends, but don't want them to have to drive me 60 miles to the airport. They actually live near a small town called Neuvic, even better if anyone knows if we can get from there to Bordeaux. Thanks |

The nearest railway station is at Périgueux, 20km from Neuvic.
The journey takes 1 hour 15 minutes and costs €13.50 which is around £10. You can book online at www.tgv.co.uk or buy at the station.
There are shuttle buses that run from the airport to Gare St-Jean TGV train station from 05:30 until 22:45 every day. Jet’Bus (tel: +33 05 56 34 50 50) operates shuttles, which depart every 35 minutes during the week and every 45 minutes on weekends. The trip into town takes around 45 minutes. Another shuttle bus service connects the airport to the city’s train station from 07:45 until 22:45 every day. These shuttles depart every 45 minutes from outside the Arrivals area and the trip takes about 40 minutes.
I would allow around 90 minutes to get from the airport to the TGV and find the platform. |

Public transport is good and reasonably priced in France and there are direct trains between Bordeaux and Bergerac and even Neuvic. There may be buses as well as it is a straight road between the two cities.
Have you already bought your flight ticket? If not there are planes that fly direct to Bergerac. |

Neuvic (Dordogne) has a station, and one daily direct service to Bordeaux, taking 1h15. There are 3 other services, changing at St-Astier or Mussidan, taking about 1h50.
If it helps, Bergerac also has an airport, served from the UK by FlyBE, from Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, Leeds Bradford and Edinburgh. |
