First off once you get to CDG go down to the trains and get a metro pass it is way cheaper then a taxi that is for sure. Second the louvre has three different areas for check in. Two areas for coats which are open from 9 to 6:45 and last pick up at 9:45. The third area is for luggage check in which is open the same hours. Both the luggage and coat check in are free if you have a ticket, which everyone should have. I was just there last April so i am sure that not to much as changed. If you have any questions about the train let me know. I hope that helps. HAVE FUN!!!! |

The musea in Paris have been implementing the vigipirate plan for a while now. Due to the terrorist 'threat' you are not allowed large bags inside the museum. You are allowed to check a normal size rucksack into the museum holding area. But they will ask you not to leave valuables there, and I dont think they accept suitcases anymore. You'll want your passport, tickets, wallet, camera etc, in a small bag that they can search before you enter the museum.
You dont catch a 'TGV' to charles de Gaulle in paris. its the RER train. |

You won't be able to take your bags into the Louvre. Anything larger than a small carry-on will be too big to bring-in (some camera bags are now required to be checked). Leave your bags at your hotel. They can hold them for you for a while even if you've already checked out. You won't take the TGV from the Louvre to CDG. Take the train (RER). RER line B goes to CDG.
Check out www.ratp.fr.
When you take the RER, keep your ticket with you at all times. You also need it to get out of the station when you get to your destination or need to buy another ticket to get out. |

Well, firstly, Paris isn't served by the TGV. You will need to use take RER from CDG 1 or 2, to get into paris. The ticket is 8.10 E one way.
then use the metro from there.
The easiest option if you're doing this is to get off the RER at Gare du Nord, and if you've got a lot of luggage, leave it in one of the lockers there. They have automatic lockers, safe and secure in 3 different sizes (we had 3 large suitcases and some carry on baggage for 9 E). You can store for upto 48 hours.
Then of course, make your metro connection. If all you are doing is going to the louvre, just buy the normal 1.40 e ticket, that's all you need.
Unless of course you just have a small packpack, you can take it round with you in the museum... and none of this info is particularly relevant for you :) |

Don't bring your bag unless you MUST. You will be able to take the bag but checking it in can take an hour in line by itself.
The line to check your bag is a separate line in addition to the entrance line, so time of day and luck dictates the length of that wait.
Even a small bag will need to be searched and that again is a line. So unless it is mandatory for you, avoid it. |

Of course you can. Just check them in at the bag check near the entrance (same for Orsay). |
