Ask them this.... " If I could come up with enough money to pay for a trip to paris, would you let me go?" Of course their response is yes.... Then smile real big, give them a big kiss and start packing. When they come to realize what is going on, you now dont have to say please, please, please..... All you have to do is point out that they said yes and that you have a way to pay for the trip!

how old are you? if you're like 13, maybe you shouldn't be going alone anyway...

paris sucks anyway. overrated.

Tell them that France is a safe country, with a lot of tourists in Paris. You can say that you'll stay in the touristic places only, where there is a lot of people.

There is absolutely no problem of safety in these places.

I hope that it will work.

and Bon voyage !

How old are you? If you're 18 or older, sweetie, do what you want. Just inform them that you are going to be gone a few days.

But you realize that parents worry. A lot. Especially when their child is heading overseas where people don't speak English. *g* Your parents will probably want to meet Megan if they have not done so already. Just to make sure she's okay, you know?

Do a little research...don't tell your parents that you are going to meet Parisian guys. Tell them what you'd like to see and do...tell them why you want to explore the Louvre (choose something in addition to the Mona Lisa).

I think you have been presented with a wonderful, possibly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it'd be crazy to pass it up.

Once you educate yourself...do some research on how much passports cost, how long it will take to get one, etc...you'll be able to present a better case to your parents on why you should go to Paris. If you both are minors, that may run into some problems.

Not only is Paris a lot of fun, but it is very educational...you don't realize how young our country is until you spend some time in Europe.

Check out Rick Steves' web site for some information that may be of use to you. If you need any help planning, give me a buzz...this is what I do in my spare time. *wink*

Good luck!

Can your friend's parents step in and talk to your parents? It would be like their daughter NEEDS YOU to go on this wonderful trip she has won, and that the two of you would be very safe traveling together. Get the other parents involved (if that doesn't work get a new set of parents -I'm joking... almost)
If you guys get to go, you can find all kinds of traveling tips on my Paris travel advice Web site http://www.myparistrips.com

Whatever you do, don't beg. Be mature about it. Tell them you'd like to go & why i.e. once in a lifetime opportunity, cultural & historical aspects, learning opportunity. Do your research - tell them where you're going & what you're going to see. Travelling overseas def opens the mind & the experience is priceless. Getting to do it for free is even better :o)

Good luck!

if you're 100% sure they're going to say no...my advice is to tell them once you're already on the plane and taking off.
