It depends which country you're from. If you are from inside the Schengenland, you don't need anything, as there are no border controls, although it's a good idea to take your passport with you as it's a legal requirement to have a piece of ID on you in public. If you're from outside the Schengenland but still inside the EU, you just need a passport. If you're from outside the EU, it depends which country. Look on the website of your home country's government department that deals with visas, the website of the French Embassy in your home country, or visit the nearest French embassy or consulate.

This depends on your nationality. If you are an EU citizen there are no visa requirements. If you are U.S. citizen you don't need a visa but you can only stay 90 days. Citizens of other countries have very different requirements.

Best place to look is the website for the French embassy in the country of your citizenship. It will show very detailed information on visas.

For example, If you are a Chinese national then: www.ambafrance-cn.org

That depends on which country you are travelling from. If you are in Europe (the EU) you only need a passport.

If you are outside Europe you need to get in touch with your local French Embassy and they'll be able to give you all you need.

Hope you enjoy the trip - Paris is a wonderful city....
