My recommandation : Fly with easyjet to Toulouse Airport (book from http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp : some flight at £3.99 one way from Gatwick ! ; you have some airport tax to pay).

From Toulouse you may then take a train, coach or even hitch hike to Lourdes.

Inofrmation on Lourdes can be found here http://hautes-pyrenees.c-lafrance.com/Loisirs-Visites/Lourdes/57259.html

Last tip : If you are a student you are entitled to benefit offers from the OTU (Office de Tourisme Universitaire). Unfortunately their site is in French, but I also give you the link http://www.otu.fr/

The train is definately the best bet. I travelled with my mom across france for 100 euro...I was cheaper cause I was a student. I also took it from Grenoble to Annecy to Geneve and back to Grenoble for a grand total of about 50 euro. Its cheap, especially if you book online. One website is eurail.com the other has to do with TGV but I can't remember it.

The quickest would be the train (TGV) but I don't know how much it is.
