Airfares vary a great deal over time and the wisest thing to do is to carefully following the changing prices and wait to snap up a particularly low fare. If you just booked today then the cheapest flight (according to Kayak.com) would be $1027. Its likley that you will be able to snag a fare for considerably less if you're ready to keep your eyes open.

Entry to the Chateau is €20 on weekdays and €25 on weekends.

You should certainly go. Versailles is a beautiful and fascinating place. Of course, I would suggest that it is only one part of a Paris experience.

Versailles is a close suburb of Paris and is easy reached on the RER (the commuter rail system) line C to the Versailles rive gauche station The cost is €2.90 each way.

You should stay in Paris rather than in Versailles itself. Versailles is a very attractive suburb and the Chateau an excellant way to spend a day but Paris itself is the main attraction.

If you do stay in Paris then stay in the center, specifically in the 4th, 5th, or 6th arrondissements.

Actually I just got a direct flight from Phila to Paris (7 hours) for $700 on Air France.

ow much would the airfare be? I'd guess between $700 to $1000, you need to check a few months before you go on a site like expedia for tickets
what airline should i take to go there? I usually take whatever airline that has the shortest flight with the cheapest fare
are cameras allowed in the palace? yes
how much is it to enter the palace? around 15 euros
should i go? sure, it is beautiful
what else do i need to know regarding transportation, hotels.
where do i stay, recommend any good hotels? you can stay in paris and take RER to get to the palace (this way you can see the city as well) or stay in the city of Versailles (there are hotels, but it's not a happening town). Check hotelclub.com for hotels by area (and they have good prices)
and lastly
IS THE PALACE IN PARIS, FRANCE? No, it is in a suburb of PAris called Versailles (the town of Versailles) you can take RER (subway train) to go from paris to Versailles. haha sorry
just tell me everything someone should do for their first trip to paris, france.
See http://www.chateauversailles.fr/fr/ for info on the palace.

I would book a trip to Paris then take a day trip to Versailles. We did this a few summers ago. It is a fast train ride and easy to take (the last stop on this line is Versailles) Actually get the book by Rick Steves - I only use his books when traveling through Europe.
I bought a museum pass at the Louvre and it gets you into all of the museums include Versailles Palace - totally worth it if you are in Paris / Versaille area for at least 4 days. I took cameras in and took pictures. Once you get off the train station, you walk to the palace - just follow the hoards of people also doing the same thing and you get in line. Did you know that people with the museum pass can usually skip to the front of the line BUT often most of the people there have museum passes.

Check out the www.tripadvisor.com for a hotel in Paris. I liked the Best Wester Ste. Germain - affordable, clean and quaint. It was across the street from a subway station.

My husband and I did Versailles in half a day - left early in the morning took the first train there and got in line and can you believe it... still had to wait for 30 minutes in line. We rented a golf cart which is what made the day go quickly because we zoomed to all the sights and trhough the gardens - nice because it was raining and we were tired of walking - not so nice because it is crazy expensive but hey, we totally thought it was worth it.

My biggest suggestion honestly is to save your money and do a 2 week trip to Europe. Fly into London (you will probably find a cheaper flight getting into London than flying into Paris). Then spend 1 week in London and take the Chunnell into Paris then after touring, take the chunnell back to London and fly home. They are just so close to each other - why not just do both??

Get online with travelocity and book the cheapest airline you can.

Cameras mostly yes, but no flash.

It's outside of Paris but you can take the train to Versailles for pretty cheap.

Don't forget the gardens. I could spend an entire day in the gardens and they are free!

The palace is outside of Paris and there are tour companies that will take you there. The rest of the questions you will have to answer yourself. You can do the research yourself or check with a travel agent.
