If I love Paris which other cities in France would you recommend living in? |
I love architecture, good food, a clean city, and friendly people. A city that is full of life also. Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseilles, are any of these recommended? Any other suggestions?
Thanks! |

Personally, I'm in love with Amiens and Honfleur. You can't get much nicer than those two =]
But if you're looking for city life, then you really can't go wrong with Nice.
Hope this helps ! |

I'm sorry to say this but Marseilles is not a "clean city". I've been there...
Try Bordeaux or Lyon instead. I think Bordeaux is definitely worth a stay ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GuCWHVMGpY&feature=related ). Obviously for a wine lover Bordeaux is the place to be. Personally I love Lyon !! It would make a very good choice :) Good food, great architecture, very good soccer team ;)
Honfleur is really really nice but it has nothing to do with Paris, Marseilles or Bordeaux which are major cities. Like Bordeaux, the city of Nice has changed a lot over the past few years. It's a big city and now has the tramway but the main avenue (Jean Médecin) has now lost its charm because they had to remove the grown-up trees... The city is not particularly clean but not particularly filthy either. It's the average. The strong points are the sea, the warm weather and it's the biggest town in the southeast !
Ah ! Almost forgot ! You have to go to Toulouse !! It's called "la ville rose" -the pink city- because most of its buildings are in red bricks. People are very friendly there, very open-minded, the food is just great (try the "cassoulet") and I think it has a good atmosphere. Plus if you like rugby, the city often host some european games (H cup) and its local rugby team, Stade toulousain, is a top notch team. I highly recommend it ! What more could i say ? If you go there you won't regret it. I only went for a few days but I literally fell in love with the city. |
