Decisions, decisions. I love the Louvre. The paintings are magnificent and the sculptures are spectacular. And I just love the building itself.

Versailles is great. Just don't go there on a Tuesday or you'll feel like you're stuck in a herd of cattle. It's just not enjoyable that way. It's a beautiful palace. The gardens and fountains are breathtaking. If you do decide to stroll down to Marie Antoinette's hamlet, it's worth it.

It's hard to choose between them...depends on your interests. Versailles does make for a great day trip, but the Louvre is a must, even if you just run in and buy a postcard. Try to go to both, but if you must choose only one, I'd say go to the Louvre, but I'm an art freak. *g*

At both places, a museum pass is a relief.

Ask yourself: How many famous things do I know in the Louvre? (Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Thamothrace, Liberty Guiding the People, . . .) Then ask how many famous things do I know at Versailles?

Depends what you like, I think both are worth a visit. But if I were to choose, I think I would go to the Palace at Versailles.

If you are interessed in art for the Louvre it will not be enough a week.So I suggest to spend the morning running trough the beauties of the Louvre and after 2 o'clock you can visit (in hurry,of course)the Versailles palace.Don't forgget the show of music and lights performed in the gardens(between3and 5p.m.)

Last year, I went to both. I suppose it really depends on the weather... if the weather's not too great.. then the louvre would be a better choice and vice versa.
The louvre would be better for you if you're interested more so in art while versailles would be better if you're interested in history... so it really depends on your interests... although i thought both very beautiful.

i have seen both and Versailles was by far my favourite, especially if it is a nice day and you can go on a rowing boat in the lake. the gardens are spectacular!!

i hve been to the louvre and really as an architecture it is simply majestic but to really enjoy u must have a passion for sculptures, art, paintings etc. so if u are not inclined towards arts i think it can get boring.as for palace of versailles i hve never been there but heard lots

i suggest u go for the palace of versailles but hey try to manage both

Le palais de Versaille: it's amazing and you can make it in one day since you need at least two to visit the Louvre (too many pieces to see).

Bieng slightly revolutionry i dont like Versailles very mutch, gold plated everything? I would rebel. No wonder the French did. Mebbe i am bieng pendantic? (and i like art over shiny things any way ;)
