If you had only two days??? Paris & Rome?? |
Yes, strange dilemna, but I have two days. Do I spend on in Rome and the other in Paris? Or 2 in Rome? Or 2 in Paris? Please answer if you've been to one or both. Thanks! |

That's a great problem to have! I have been to both, numerous times and if you only have 2 days, I would recommend focusing on touring Paris. With L'Open tour buses, you get to drive around all the main attractions in Paris really cheaply. These are double-decker buses with a "topless" upper deck and with the great weather Paris is currently enjoying, it's an amazing way to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, and on and on. Plus, you get to hop on and hop off at will all day for the price of one ticket. I don't discuss L'Open tours, but you can find a lot of information on Paris if you go to my travel advice website (non-commercial) http://www.myparistrips.com
I love Rome very much also, but I truly believe that for a two-day excursion, touring Paris is more exciting.
ps: I wouldn't try doing one day each. Traveling time alone would eat up the bulk of your vacation. |

Haven't been to either - but you can't possibly not go to Paris!! If you don't think you will ever go back - try to spend one day at both places.....checking out a couple of main attractions in both and seeking out a good restaurant. That way, you will have good memories of both without it all being so crammed together that you forget. Have fun. Au Revoir! |

I've been on both just recently. I spent 2 days in Rome and 2 days in Paris.
Well, you won't be able to see everything in just one day in either of the places, so I suggest you visit only one place. Whichever you choose, it will be a great choice because Rome and Paris are both beautiful.
However it also depends on your interests. If you enjoy ruins, that sort of history, you have to go to Rome. If you want someplace more romantic and more encompases beauty, then I suggest Paris.
France has been my favorite country ever since, so I might be a little biased. But I enjoyed Rome so much as well.
Good luck, hope you make the right choice! *If you do decide for Paris, spend time in the Louvre, alright?* |

Depends what your goals are. If you are traveling with a romantic partner and you want to see a lot of stuff I would recommend Paris. If you are looking for things to do by yourself or with a friend then Rome would be perfect. In my experience it took a lot more time trying to see a lot of stuff in Rome (really long lines) than in Paris. It will take you more than a half day to just see the Sistene (sp?) Chapel. However, it will also take you more than a half day to see the Louvre (or at least a good 4 hours).
I would invest my time in one place to make sure you see what you want to see. Paris is incredibly romantic with a lot to see but Rome is beautiful with a lot to see as well.
Bottom line: Stay in one spot because you won't get a feel for the city in just one day. If you need any help trying to figure out what to see just let me know! |

Both are great cities w/ their own flavor. Definetly DO NOT try to do both in 2 days.. you'll spend most of your time traveling.
If I had to choose I would do Paris. For me it seemed easier to get around in. Though Rome has a Metro it's not as vast the Paris metro. Don't believe what you hear about rude french people. Just follow the golden rule and you'll be good to go. Skip breakfast at your hotel and find any patisserie and order a cafe aulait & pain chocolait (chocolate crossanit). Get ice cream on the Ille San Louis.
With the limited amount of time you will have I suggest you take one day to hang out in Montmarte and day to do a walking tour. http://www.classicwalksparis.com/
I highly recommend that company. Their "classic walk" is a GREAT overview of all the major site and 4hrs only cost 20euros. Ask for Jill... she was my guide and was great! Oh and don't miss seeing Paris at night. |

rome. italy has better cuisine, better landscape, less pain in the *** people to deal with unlike france and the thought of wine and a hot companion could make the best travel experience ever. |

I would choose Rome, Because you will need both days to see all of the sites that there. I have been there it is a very nice place. I would recommend Sistine Chapel. ( Very Nice).
I have also been to Paris, I have enjoyed Rome a whole lot more. Hope this helps. |

Spend it in Rome is much better there then in Paris. IF you do try to do each one day you will problems with getting around from point A to point B is too much of a hassle. So just go to Rome they are more thing sto look at there then in Paris. |
