Well I'm going back in late September and staying for a month. But then I've gone to Paris just about every year for the last 35 so I'm likely to do things differently than you would because I've seen all the tourist sights. The fact that I'm an old geezer also makes a big difference.

What I do in Paris is enjoy the food and just hang out at bars that feature music, blues and jazz mostly. Paris is a great, laid back city with a huge number of music venues and clubs.

The fact that I'm a singer also has a lot to do with where I go since I tend to return to the clubs where I'm known to sit in with musicians I know.

You are likely a great deal younger and prepared for a more active time. One suggestion is the Georges Café at 4, rue de la Huchette in the 5th arrondissment. Here's a little video of what its like: http://www.paris-zoom.com/place.asp?P=Georges+Caf%E9&H=video#VIDEO

In between the clubs, find time to go to the Louvre and see some incredible art. You'll regret it years from now if you don't :)

Have fun!

I would take a day trip to Versailles. We were there at the beginning of October last year...the weather was perfect, and the day was amazing. It was my favorite part of our 10 day trip! :)

I would first go and visit all my family and then head over to Le Mans and visit the racetrack road where they have the Le mans 24hr races each year. From there head over to Strasbourg and visit the area, maybe even ride over to the German boarder. From there, head further south near the boarder of Switzerland and visit around there, maybe take a pit stop over in Lyon and go crazy on the food over there. Then drive across the cote d'azure and make my way to Carcossone and visit the medieval village they have there that is still fortified, and check out the Pyrenees
