I used to live in France and you can do it in that short amount of time, trust me. I did Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, boat trip along the Seine and much more in just 3 days. It can be done. Most of it is in walking distance which helps and if you set yourself a plan it should help. For example:
Day 1: Notre Dame & Arc de Triomphe as definites
Day 2: Eiffel Tower & Louvre as definites
Day 3: Boat trip along the Seine as a definite
Day 4: Normandy
If you give yourself a couple of goals each day and then wander round, you'll see a lot of Paris. I definitely recommend Normandy. I went there for a week when I was in secondary school and it's amazing. If you can get to some of the cemeteries, they are well worth seeing - British, American and German. If you have enough time, some things that are worth seeing are the 360 degree cinema, Airbourne Troops museum and a lot of the D-Day landing sites. It's truly a great experience but whatever you get done will be amazing. Have fun. |

While Normandy is a very interesting and pleasant place, four days is a very short time to be in Paris, the number one tourist destination in the world, to begin with.
Why take time from such a short vacation to spend even more time going to the train station, finding the ticket booth, standing in line to buy tickets, waiting for the train to arrive and then sitting in a train for a couple of hours each way?
Its not as if you'll have seen everything in Paris, become dreadfully bored and desparetly need to find something else to do.
A very brief outline of how to spend four days in Paris might look something like this:
Day One. Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Conciergerie, Parc du Vert Galant, Boat ride on the Seine, Pont Neuf, Place St. Michel, Musee de Cluny.
Day Two Louvre, Arc du Carousel, Tuilleries Gardens, Grand and Petit Palais, Orangerie, Jeu de Palme, Place de la Concorde, La Madelaine, Champs Elysee, Arc de Triomphe
Day Three Trocadero/Palais de Chaillot, Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Musee Rodin, Pont Alexandre III, Palais Bourbon, Musee D'Orsay
Day Four Sacre Coeur, Place du Tetre and Montmartre, Centre Pompidou, Les Halles, rue des Rosiers and the Marais, Place des Vosges, Place de la Bastille. |
