We were there on Christmas eve.Best weston near notre-dame is very centrally located.Good price nice cafes all around. You can walk to the Notre-dame and pick up a hop on hop off bus in front of it.Two day bus pass was 32 eu.and one day pass was 29 eu. buses run from 9-30 to 6 pm.they have 3 bus lines. This is the best way to see paris.

I suggest you to visit:

- Musée du Louvre... You can't go in Paris and not see it :-)

-Centre Pompidou... It is a very original building, inside there is a very beautiful museum of contemporary art...

-Montemartre, there the panorama of the city is wonderful; in the past this hill was the district of the poets and painters and still today you can find some artists in the streets; moreover there is the Sacré-Cœur :-)

-Tour Eiffel ( the same thing I've said about the Louvre :-))

-Arc de Triomphe

Paris is a magical city... You never finish to discover it...

The Musee d'Orsay will blow you away with its impressionist paintings and the spectacular light and setting of the old converted railroad station in which it is housed. Don't miss it! The Louvre is dreary in comparison.

I usually stay at a Hotel called "Villa Medici" rue Leprince Ringuet in Saint Germain near Notre Dame. in this area, there are a lot of different ethnic restaurants (Lebanese, Malaysian etc..) and its walking distance from all the places to visit in Paris !! have a good trip !!!

Paris is expensive, so if you are on a budget use public transportation which is very good. Cafes and such are tourist traps but why not go once?
Museums are so many and some of the best in the world, I can't decide which one to recommend. Prepare for long queues.
You can ask your travel agency if they have any special tours for Paris that hit on the major interest points.
Congratulations, you are a very lucky girl, Paris is beautiful!
