Is Bird Flu still spreading in Europe ?

I read about Bird Flu happening in Europe. Is it affecting France ?

Unfortunately Avian Flu is spreading in Europe. It has been detected in France, Turkey, Romania, Russia, and maybe a couple of other countries.

Now that spring is starting to appear scientists are even more concerned. Migratory birds will soon start to make thier migratory flights back to where they came from and it is possible that the birds will introduce Avian Flu to new countries. The ultimate fear is of a human pendemic, or the spreading of the disease from human-to-human.

As far as I know, in Europe there are no reported cases of human-to-human transmission. Hopefully we won't see any either.

At cat died in Germany from Bird Flu. They are predicting that it will get to Alaska in the spring.

I went skiing yesterday in Austria and as I crossed the border from Germany there was a sign saying that the area was a Bird flu quarantine area. I'm not sure what that means as the birds fly where they want to. Also, I believe that the cold long winter in Europe as at least temporarily slowed the spread of the disease.

even if it is spreading, it is not dangerous for people, as long as they don't play with the birds.

Bird flu has been found in Turkey, China, Palestine, Sweden, Pakistan and more (2006 alone). It seems to be spreading, though France seems to be safe at the mo.
