I've been asked one time out of 6 trips if I had one. I didn't...
I think the only reason they asked is because I have an American passport and at the time, had a photocopy of my French residency card, the document with my married name asking for a new residency card, and my marriage license--all in French.
I think you'll be fine though. |

NO, but the airlines in the US might ask you for a visa, at which point you just tell them you will buy the ticket in France. |

No, it's not required, provided you come from a country that gives you automatic entry to the Schengen zone, eg USA, Canada, Australia.
But you will find it much cheaper to book a return ticket, then change the date if you need to and pay a little extra. One way tickets are really expensive. |

even w/ out a firm return date at this time buy a roundtrip ticket & change the return date when you are ready. it will be less expensive than 2 one ways....you will pay a small fee to change a date but a large fee for a one way ticket. some roundtrip tickets are cheaper than oneways.....
security only asks for boarding passes which are of course one way, never tickets.... |
