Is an hour enough time to get from Gare de l'Est to Gare Montparnasse?

I used to live in Paris so I know that there is a direct métro line but it's 13 stops on line 4. I already have métro tickets so I don't have to stop and buy those.

I remember that there is a long walk once I arrive. I have used both train stations but never transferred between the two. I will be with my three kids, ages 4, 6 & 8 but luckily, we wont have much baggage (husband already took the suitcase).

Anyone know what a cab would cost and how long it would take? Is there usually a long wait for a cab at Gare de l'Est?

yes it is possible but you will really need to run in Gare Montparnasse.

I did it many times because i had 48 minutes from the arrival of my train in Paris-Gare de l'Est to Paris Montparnasse.

Little idea : i did not use the tunnel in Montparnasse, i went outside because it is overcrowded in the tunnel at peak hours.

But attention, I would not recommend it if you take the TGV in Montparnasse, take the taxi in this case.

(I took suburban trains in Montparnasse, available every 30 minutes).

hello.

Don't worry, take a taxi, is very cool and cheap in Paris inner (near 20€ from gare de l'Est to Montparnasse).

You've in front of the station numerous taxis, so no time to wait for that, you will have one very quickly

for the time, don't know, it depends of the pick hour, if it's the case, schedule one hour between the two stations, if not, you've for 20-30mins.

I live in Paris, so i know that kind of things ;)

Bon courage

The traveling time on the metro between the two stations is only 17 minutes and, given that you will have tickets in hand, it seems to me that you should be able to make it.
