Major airports are always open because there's no telling when a plane might need to make an unscheduled landing, and there are often a handful of flights during the night (not necessarily commercial traffic).

However, most of the shops and restaurants other services in the airport will close at night.

Tiny airports often close completely at night (arriving aircraft are on their own), but CDG is one of the world's major airports so it doesn't close.

I think it's open if a plane is late but not really all the night.

Recently I went there to pick up my son coming back at midnight and all the shops and bars were closed.
So I think it's open but with no life, only some police for security.

I slept there overnight once back in July so I am sure it's opened 24 hours. But after early evening all the shops, bars and restaurants will be closed. The only thing edible you can get is by the vending machines. Later at about 22:00 all the counters for customer enquiry and ticket selling are also closed. But the airport lobbies are always opened in case passengers taking early morning flights can wait overnight inside there. There are seats everywhere but some people will go inside the snack shop to sleep on the long sofa overnight. But be aware,at sometimes near midnight they will close all the toilets for cleaning for hours .

Not completely. Alot of the shops and areas close probably after 8 pm and re-open at 6 am.

Yes it is.

Yes, it is. I'm fairly sure I've flown out of CDG at least once during every possible hour of the day.

The lounge operating hours, however, are a VERY different story =/

I thought all airports are open 24 hours, because their's always flights through out the day at varied times.
