Is it cheaper to book Paris tours before you go, or when you arrive? |
We are travelling to Paris from London and want to know if the tours are cheaper once you are there cos you can look around and get the best deal, or is it cheaper to book in advance from UK? We are going this month. |

Hi,
If you want to go around Paris withe bus, the less expensive, and the most well known in Paris are called "The car rouge"
If you want to discover Paris, with boat, which is very nice, you can book with : Bateaux Parisiens, Diner-croisieres, or Vedettes de Pont Neuf.
If you want to discover Paris by yourself, the official website of the town of Paris is : http://www.en.parisinfo.com
About transports : Official website Ratp.fr or Transilien, it depends of the place you want to go.
If you have a little bit time, go to Castle of Versailles. Wonderful. You can take the train at Montparnasse railway station, get down at Versailles Chateau. Half an hour trip to go there.
Have a nice stay in Paris. |

You can save on a sightseeing cruise up and down the Seine on the Vedettes de Pont Neuf website: http://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/ The internet ticket will save you 5 euros per ticket at the moment.
A boat ride on the Seine is certainly something everyone will want to do at least once but I'm a bit leery about guided bus tours and even the Hop On/Hop Off bus trun by Cityrama (http://www.pariscityrama.com/others-services/hop-on-hop-off-buses )
Someone who really wants to save money will do much better simply buying a "Mobilis" (the one day public transport pass) and then planning their own itinerary and doing a modicum of reading about the major sights.
The Mobilis costs 5.80 euros and allows unlimited travel on all RER. Metro, Tram, Bus lines and even the funicular up to the top of Montmartre.
A two day Cityrama Hop on/Hop off ticket costs 39 euros. Getting a Mobilis (which is more versitile in any case) for two days costs 11.60 euros thus saving over 26 euros per person. That's a fair bit of money.
If your concerned about an itinerary then send me an e-mail and we can work out one that fits your interests. |

tour bus is a waste of time, takes 3 to 4 hours and it is a highly overrated experience. |

Ther cheaper way to book is always to book on the official site of the hotels. You can get a list of them here : http://www.lookotel.com/france_ile%20de%20france_paris_c782194_Paris+Hotels |

I'd prefer to book in advance that means you'd better book in UK. Because you may not be available to get the right tour you like join in when you are in Paris. We all know Paris is a hot destination year-round,so some tourist track is very hard to book unless you book in advance. If you are worried about the price, you can search on the internet and found the cheapest one. That will be better. Here, i know tours4fun is a good online tour provider can offer such kind of Paris tours, you can click the following link and check one out.
