It would be a waste of time and money given you'd be sitting in traffic quite a lot then you'd have to pay even more to park that car!
In Paris, the subway is affordable, fast and it's always a nice temperature underground... |

Not necessary if you only want to do things within & around Paris. Subway + train system are pretty good except during strikes. Furthermore it is very difficult to park and circulate in Paris unless you know the city really well. Hope this is helpful. |

really not if you plan to stay within Paris. traffic is terrible.
there is a vast underground (métro) and bus network and you can -even better - walk!
If you want to travel outside Paris, then depending on how far you go, you can always use a train; |

Just don't rent a car!! The traffic is terrible, Parisians are crazy driver (I can say so I am an ex-Parisian, LOL!!!), the price of gas is outrageous and it's just a nightmare to park... Having a car in Paris is a pain!
The city offers good (but not always reliable) public transportation: subway (metro), train (RER), bus, tramway, even ferry-boat. You can find easily a weekly or daily pass called "Carte Orange" in any station. You can use it for any public transportation as much as you want. Very convenient.
Enjoy your stay. |

OMG, I would *never* drive in Paris and I've been there several times and have driven in other parts of the country. There is such a great public transporation system in Paris (subway, bus) that there is absolutely no need for a car. Many of my Parisian friends don't even own cars. It would just be a huge waste your money not to mention the hassle finding and paying for parking. |

Yes, if you're crazy...
A car is the worst thing in Paris, totally useless. |
