I really can't believe some of the ignorant answers on here.Absolutely,Parisfornia is spot on.I hope you have a really great time if you are going,I can't wait to go back myself.
One bath a week? Hairy armpits? Have you not seen a French woman before? |

Well if you have to go, go to higher class areas. Some still have the toilet in the floor thing. Where you have to crouch. I don't know why people find French so romantic. France - the place where they take a bath per week, the place where nobody understands English, the place where it took me 30 minutes to my MCDONALD happy meal breakfast. Talk about FAST food. =D |

Yes, it's fine. Just stay away from "bad" areas. They're pretty easy to avoid. You can find out from the US Embassy there. |

Never listen to people who go all the way to France to complain about.... McDONALD'S!!! They think foreign countries are just another amusement park and everybody there should speak English and be little american clones. Why do they even bother to travel I wonder.
To answer your question, there is some political unrest in France at the moment but it is not even remotely as disruptive as the media report it here. They like to sensationalize everything because that's how they get people to watch so they can push tons of commercials on them. Traveling to France is perfectly safe. Trust me, the State Department would have said otherwise by now if it weren't so. |

After the 9/11 there is no safe place anymore. Safety is a relative term. You can't even feel safe inside your home. But I know that there are people who feel safe and at peace when they go inside and serve inmates of the Death Row. |
