Is it true that all french women chain smoke and don't shave their legs?

As true as all American women wake up early in the morning to count how much money her husband has in his wallet.

largegrasseatingmonster
No. French women generally have better grooming habits than most other women. They are also not all chain smokers, although smoking is more common in France. Note that the Epliady, waxing, Bioree, Gilette, Lancome, and a number of other female grooming products are all French.

It's true that a higher percentage of French women smoke vs. their American counterparts, but smoking is more commonplace in French culture, too. As to the other, I remember mentioning to a French friend the stereotype Americans have of French women (unshaved, not bathing) and his reaction was great: he widened his eyes in surprise and said, That's not French women, it's the Portuguese! So I guess in every culture, there's another culture that we like to bash. For Americans, it's the French, for the French it's the Portuguese, for the Portuguese...? Oh and to answer your question, yes, French women shave (or wax) their legs.

possibly
Les françaises sont les plus belles femmes du monde ! lol

Stars_11
NOT TRUE!

My father went to france when I was a child and to this day
when we go through photos he tells me about all the people he met.. and the places he went..

Most women shave..
Some do not but that is their choice..

Let them.

ya, ya, ya, they also don't take baths which is why they invented perfume right?!!!

gee, what century are you from!!!???

Of course not.

sad.... we have this reputation ,,,of course its not true ...we use deodorant ,we take showers,we prefer to wax here and thats true a lotttt of ppls smoke!
true we make fun on portuguese ppls because they have the reputation to have a lot of hairs and no shaving...but is it true???i dont know lol

jmp78
That's just a stereotype. To be honest with you if you go on holiday on the French Riviera or near the Spanish border, you'll notice it's not French women who don't shave their legs :)

qriste
answer from a french girl :
- do I shave my legs? unfortunately I have to, if I don't shave them I don't show them; I would like to live in a country where it's not a shame!
- do I smoke? fortunately not, but many women here can't live more than 30 minutes without smoking.

yes french women do smoke a lot in certain areas of France, but they are also in the highest percentage of women in Europe who shave, and not only they're legs (i think they actually wax more than shave)
