Is it true that in Paris you can buy Louis Vuitton bags cheaper?

Me and my friends went to Paris back in 2005 and we tried to go find the Louis Vuitton factory because we heard you could get them cheaper there and it was under reconstruction which really sucked, LOL. We may be going back next year so I just want to know is that really true so we don't get our hopes up. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Yes the LV bags are a slightly cheaper in France (obviously because they are French). But due to the exchange rates atm it might be about the same price to buy it in the USA, check out louisvuitton.com for prices in the USA and in France.

It will probably be the same price..but in euros. For example, a bag at 500 dollars will likely be priced at 500 euros. muchhhhhhhhh cheaper to purchase in US

No. Travel back and forth frequently and because of the exchange rate, they come here to buy the bags.

Other way around, actually =] I have some friends that live in Amiens that take a huge shopping trip to Manhattan every summer because you can find the purses, etc. for less with the favorable (to them) exchange rate.

No !!!! much more expensive - because faked bags in France do not fix the prices.

Otherwise there are tons of sites and places where you can have the faked rubbish for nothing - just advise you in case, to restrain crossing french customs with such counterfeited things - they would be instantly confiscated, destroyed and you'd be heavily ( very heavily ) fined .
