possibly
not quite true !
I know lots of people from arabic origins who have good jobs here in France and have integrated a good standing of living french life very well !
it's more a question of social status !
for rich or poor and colour of the skin anywhere in the world ,
it's the question to ask nowadays :
white and wealthy ?
black or arab and wealthy ?
white and poor ?
black or/and arab and poor ?

unfortunately, it is probably true. Not all french are racists! but the general sentiments against people of arabic origin is very negative.

Read about it at some of these websites:

Traditionally countries do not have a problem assimilating large groups of immigrants as long as the immigrants want to adapt to their new country. The problems start when large groups band together and build a separate neighborhood with their own groceries, churches, etc. It is common to find people especially women and small children that never learn the local language. These people, in general do not vote or participate in issues outside their neighborhood. This leads to great resentments in the surrounding populations.

Of course...there is racism against Arabs pretty much everywhere except Arab countries. Racism of all kinds exist in every country.

unfortunately, there is racism in every country against every national origin. fortunately it is normally the small minority of people that are uneducated.

nowadays we live in a society where theres always racism and we can never avoid it at all, you just have to learn how to deal with it and how to react from there. you can better yourself by not looking into it to much.

geronimo98
French people have a different vision of immigration.
There is racism in every country even in arabs countries

But you are not talking about real racism in that case - to the French point of view which is quite simple - if you move to another country to live there - you need to speak the local language and adopt the culture.

Many North African and Turkish moved to France after WWII to rebuild France. They then asked their family to come and live in France.

Unfortunately most of them were living in specific suburbs - and never had to learn French language neither culture.
Because they were not able to speak French they couldn t get better social positions - and only few of their children could manage to do so - more difficult to learn when poorer, and when not speaking French correctly at home... This is a vicious circle

Oh yes. I am French and very racist against Arabs. You want to know why? I'll tell you why? The Arabs come in illegally into our country. Once they have offsprings they go to school but the adults abuse the advantages of being a French citizen. They abuse the fact that they get free medical care when you have a job. Second France was in war against Algeria in the 1960s and they lost so they dont want to see them. Third, they are so many and are everywhere about 5 million out of the 60 million population. The second highest religion is muslim after Roman catholism. They think we are racist because we are white. And we dont like their ugly language. So that about it really. We are not racist to the blacks because they are not illegal. Some are but some are not. Because islands such as Ile de la reunion, martinique, haiti, guadeloupe, and more come from these islands and go to France for education and jobs. These people have a right. But Arabs dont. French people are afriad that France will become Arabia. Just like all the mexicans in southern california. Now you can understand my point.

I don't think so, France is notrorious for anti-semitism. Of course, where isn't? The BBC is a liberal media which likes to report on everything but the truth.

beez
The French have no discrimination against any nationality in particularly. They dislike everyone.
