My Japanese friend told me Paris's cost of living is about the same as Tokyo.
There are more expensive cities to live like Geneva, London...etc but it is considered an expensive city to live in.

France, specifically Paris, can be very expensive. It all depends on what your interests are. Assuming you already have accommodations the rest of your trip you should plan on about $50-75 a day. Less if you don't eat out for every meal and if you take the metro instead of taxis. If you want to go to museums plan on admission being around $15/museum but if you plan to visit every museum in Paris buy a museum pass and it will save you time and money.

Living in Pairis life is not very cheap even if other cities such as Milan or London are much more expensive.
Outside Paris live is not very exepensive and there is many ways to save money. For restaurant in Paris you can find easily a full meal for around 20 to 25 euro...buying your food in supermarquets outside Paris will save you lots of money to.
