i heard that there is an antenna on the top is it true?

so suppose in my story i was to throw a body from a helicopter the body would get stuck on the antenna? like when you stab somebody and the sword goes through and through, could it happen? |

Yes, there's an antenna up there, that's how the tower was saved from being destroyed in the early 20th century. Parisians thought it was an eyesore, and after the World's Fair for which is was built (1898, I believe), it was slated for demolition, until the people who wanted to save it decided to make it into a radio antenna....at least that's the story I've heard, and that was from some documentary, but it could be an urban myth.
Throw someone from a helicopter and impale them on the antenna? EEEWWW!!! GROSSS!! Not probable, but then, neither is much of what you read in a lot of novels, so, go for it. you'll definitely get the eeww factor!

It is sharp... but not so much !
Yes, there is an antenna at the top, it is about 10cm-4 inches diameter. There is also one surge arrester and it is thinner, so continue your story with it.
For your information, it is not permitted to fly over Paris-City with an helicopter, you will have to invent that the army follows the helicopter and tries to catch it, it will add some suspens to your story !

couldn't be that sharp.. the tower is HUGEEEEEE.. pictures do not do it justice. it is a monster. i've been up twice and I believe there is an antenna up there. |

Eiffel tower is a huge French phallic symbol...like most landmarks.
I do not think that is very realistic--as far as getting stabbed with the atenna. The victim could fall to his/her death and then the people on the viewing areas of the tower could look down in horror at the site of the body. There are 3 viewing areas--one at the top, one 1/2 way down and one close to the bottom. When the wind gets going they do not let people go up to the top--so maybe a big fight seen after they snuck up to the top in high winds and then a fall...
Lots of options, but probably not to realistic to fall on the top of the tower and get stabbed with an antenna. |
