The "Metro" is the city subway system and does not go to the airport (CDG). There is a suburban train line called the "RER" that goes from the airport to Gare du Nord station in the northern part of the city. From Gare du Nord, you can pick up the Metro to other parts of the city.
The fare last year was around 9 Euro. A taxi will probably cost you around 35-45 Euro by comparison.
Updated info can be found on this site: www.ratp.fr
Click on the little British flag and the page will display in English.
One caution about the train. There is not a lot of room for luggage and you could have some long walks through the terminals and stations. The train is cheaper, but could also be a big hassle if you have lots of bags. |

from charles de gaulle you can get the RER, its 16 euros return or from beauvais you have to get a bus to porte maillot and then you can get on the metro |

yes I took it when I came from the Airport Roissy charles de Gaulles. it's teh called the RER and it takes you 40 minutes before arriving in the center of paris. The train stops only like 9 or 10 times but tis cool because you see paris outer area such as the football stadium. the fare is cheap. |

From CDG airport is a bus (in July it was 8.50 euros/ticket), every 15 minutes, just to the center of the city, close to Garnier Opera. |

You can take the RER from Charles-de-Gaulle airport, and get off at Gare-du-Nord to transfer to a metro line. There are automatic machines at the airport to buy the ticket before entering the gates, you will need to get enough change just in case your credit card or bank card do not work (like it did for me), there is several machines but usually only one works, believe it or not, and there was at least one hundred people in the queue, so after waiting 30 minutes, I had to find a place to get change (no change machines in sight, of course! and try to get some change from a snack-bar!), and get back in line...took over one hour just to get the ticket... |

Depends on which Paris airport.
But you can get lots of info on Paris Metro on this website:

Two main airport in Paris :
- From Charles de Gaulle Airport, take the RER B line
- From Orly Airport, take the Orlyval, then change at Anthony station to RER B line
Both leads to Chatelet-Les halles station which is in the center of Paris. You may then change to any underground/metro station
