Is there a bus to take me from CDG to Motte Picquet?

My husband and I will be staying at the Hotel de la Motte Picquet. I'm not sure if we should take the metro, a cab, a shuttle or call a cab. I know the metro will be the least expensive, however, we will have two large suitcases so I am concerned about steps and transfers. I think a bus would be good if it takes us close to our hotel. I've heard some bad stories about unreliable shuttle companies and I know a taxi will run us 50-60 euros. Thoughts?

No, these is no bus which goes directly from the airport to your hotel.

I have had nothing but good experiences with shuttle companies but perhaps I have just been lucky.

To be perfectly honest my first thought is that traveling with two large suitcases is your problem. Unless you are moving to Paris to live there is no reason for taking a large suitcase. Whatever reason you think you have for doing so is simply wrong. Travel light. That is the first rule of every knowledgeable traveler.

There are whole websites devoted to showing you how to travel light. Do yourself a favour and consult them.

With a reasonably sized suitcase travel by RER or metro is not that difficult.

If you choose to take public transportation, here is my suggestion for a trip without stairs:

- Air France bus to Gare Montparnasse (line 4) + bus 92 to Ecole Militaire. It will be the 7th stop on the line but the bus only stops on request so pay attention to how many stops you are passing by and not how many times the bus actually stops. The stop just before yours is called Vauban-Hôtel des Invalides so right after you pass that stop, press the button for the bus to stop at Ecole Militaire.

The whole trip from the airport to your hotel will cost 16.50 € per person.

Two of you should be able to handle the two suitcases on the metro.
I' ve known people do the journey with four large cases.

I would recommend the RER/metro.
