You know, Southern France is NOT a British colony. You can stay at home if you think so.
Learn French, don't try to live there with Brits, and then you will be welcome to live, work and anything you want in France. |

If you're going to live there, you may as well learn to speak French. It's not that difficult. |

You cannot count on ppl in France to speak English. Most are not fluent and many have only studied it in a classroom. After all, they are French ppl living and working in a French speaking country. I would rag on you more, but in the US, you cannot believe how many ppl come here, apply for welfare/free housing/food stamps/free medical care (yes, there is free medical care for ppl on welfare) and refuse to learn English. Not even broken English. And these ppl are of all races and come from all over the world so learning one foreign language isn't "enough." You really will get a lot more out of your stay in France (and will be treated better in restaurants and stores) if you can speak some French. Believe it or not, French is much more similar to English than many other foreign languages. |

In France you would have a much chance of getting a job as a snowball in hell! The majority of jobs are never advertised anyway, they are filled by word of mouth. The ONLY job you may remotely get would be helping a British couple restore a house, usually no pay, board and lodging only.
In the South of Spain your chances are higher as there are a lot of English owned businesses that cater only for the English, be aware the pay rates are poor.
Italy, sorry but I don't know |

Well it helps if have a skill that you can market and know someone already there who can put you up while you look and perhaps provide you with leads. The French are not really racist but they are very chauvinistic which is why learning or at least making a serious attempt to learn the language is so important. |

There's always Benidorm in Spain, it's more like a British seaside resort than Spanish. I'm sure their always looking for someone to serve up the bacon and egg breakfasts. |
