I visited Paris several times. Nice and affordable Hotels are rare and hard to find. Nonetheless there are some :-)
I would highly recommend:
Hotel de Nesle, 7 Rue de Nesle (Metro Station Odeon)
Des Allies, 20 Rue Berthollet (Metro Cenisier Daubenton)
Saint-Andre-des-Artes, 66 Rue Saint Andre des Artes (Metro Odeon)
Prima Lepic, 29 Rue Lepic (Metro Blanche)
Extremely affordable for a more younger clientele:
Le Fauconnier, 11 Rue du Fauconnier (Metro Saint Paul/Ponte Marie)

Enjoy your time in Paris!
PS. Don't miss these Restaurants (affordable and goooood):

Le Drouot, 103 Rue de Richelieu (Metro Richelieu-Drouot)
L'Incroyable, 26 Rue de Richelieu (Metro Palais Royal)
Perraudin (close to Sorbonne) 157 Rue Saint Jaques (Metro Maubert Mutualite) |

Check out the Inter Hotel Roma Sacre Coeur at tripadvisor.com. I have stayed there twice and enjoyed it. It's super close to the Metro stop Larmarck-Caulaincourt. |

In early April 2009 a friend & I stayed in a 3 star hotel in Paris called Hotel de la Gare Du Nord - 33 Rue De Saint Quentin(sector 10e on paris maps) also known as Quality Hotel Gare Du Nord. It was a few minutes walk from the Paris Gare Du Nord train station where the Eurostar comes in. We stayed in a double room/twin beds for two nights and it cost us a total of $A397.22 including a very decent breakfast. i used expedia.com.au to book it as it had a special rate. The room was clean & comfortable for two people to stay in (layout of room was good) with tea/cofee making facilities. There were heaters and u could open windows if u wanted to. Very decent shower too, over a bath. Beds comfortable. Its about a good 10 -15 minute walk (2.5km) along Rue La Fayette to Place De L'Opera opposite a big shopping complex called Gallaries Lafayette, its where the hop on hop off buses pick up for touring Paris. Staff at hotel were very helpful and spoke English well. One of my sisters recommended it although she had never stayed there n i recommended it to another sister who recently had a baby but she could not stay there as they did not allow babies. Its an oldish building with a small lift that fits two people with some luggage (it said 4-6 people, but that would be very cramped). Hope this helps |

If you're looking for a good hotel in Paris you can go to Scoobit.com, the hotel search engine at http://www.scoobit.com and to this page dedicated to Paris hotels in particular http://www.scoobit.com/hotel-paris.php I stayed at the first hotel on the right. It was a clean, well located and nicely staffed hotel, located near the Notre-Dame and close to Public Transport. Safe site. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. Have a great time in Paris. Hugs. |
