As the other have pointed out, there's only one Elipsos night train from Paris to Barcelona, leaving Paris Gare d'Austerlitz at 8.32pm and arriving in Barcelona France at 8.24am the next morning.
With regards to the price though, the reason the 1st class ticket is seemingly cheaper is because that's the ticket for a seat in the 1st class only. If you try to get a sleeper then the price will go up e.g. double sharing 1st class is €222.
The price of €150 in the second class is for a sleeper in a cabin for 4 people so you'll be sharing with 3 others. Reservation must be made ahead of your travel.
** The supplementary fare for single trip on the tourist class sleeper (ie the second class) is €70 for Eurail pass holder. **

Click on "Fares" image at the bottom left, then select France, and to view the price as brochure, select the line Joan Miro, and you'll see all the prices for all the different classes of travel.
Note re classes:
1) super reclining seat - 1st class seat only
2) tourist class - 2nd class sleeper
3) club class - 1st class, without ensuite shower
4) grand class - 1st class, with ensuite shower |

Apparently not. I just checked the SNCF website and the only train available on December 25th is the Elipsos train-hotel at 8:32 pm arriving the next morning at 8:24 for 150 €.

Yes, there is one at 8:32 PM from Gare de Austerlitz in Paris on the Elipsos hotel train which then arrives in Gare Barcelona Franca at 8:24 AM the next day. Total duration: 11 hours and 52 minutes. Cost: Second: 150 euros First: 136 euros (Strange that first class is cheaper!). |

I seem to remember That's about a 24 hour trip and you have to change trains at the border because of the different rail gauge on the Spanish trains. I can't imagine there would not be a train on Christmas day, though... but... it IS the French train system so who knows? |
