wonders never cease
its pretty simple really, paris= beautiful city, and london= a mess.... i guess the french value clean metros as well as food and fashon :)

Yep I do agree with you...A world of difference...
LU are careless and not to forget the Londoners as well

Wobbly
I completely agree - it's a world apart from ours isn't it!

The prices are good as well.

The French have more respect for the environment generally. They have more pride in being able to travel as they should in a safe and clean environment.

The French spend money on the customers the British on the workers/managers/administration.

I used to live in Paris, and would agree that the métro is kept reasonably clean. I didn't spend much time in London so I can't really comment. When I was staying at a youth hostel in the Golders Green section, and taking the tube to central London however, I don't recall it being especially dirty. Has it changed much in the last ten years, I'm wondering?

i don't find the tube that dirty to be honest
but the metro is so much better run and so cheap!! the only thing is the lack of escalators in most stations. and the RER smells horrible.

I totally agree with you I was so surprised at how clean the whole city was. I'm presuming it's because of the size, the area that has to be maintained in comparison to a city like London, which in some aspects puts London to shame, but in my experience the métro and RER are both satisfying and the graffiti I find artistic, you'd be lying if you said Paris isn't beautiful...

Citizen DeCat
It is not the London Underground that is filthy, it is the horrible Londoners who use it. They deserve to drown in a sea of their own garbage.

e_shepard
Funny, I don't think the Paris metro system is particularly clean and I use it everyday. Though I've only been to London 4-5 times, I don't think it is dirty....

why the hell did you go to france in the first place they all like the cheese and little boys
