We stayed at Camping Acapulco last year just down the road, and had to go past your site everyday! I think it has a pool and a slide.

Area is lovely but quite small, the market is good and there are some good restaurants, they all tend to close quite early. There are further bars about 2k's away (by the water park) which are a bit more lively. We didn't visit the water park as we have very young kids, but it did look fun. There is a Marche U in the st jean plage which is great as it's within walking distance.

Opposite the entrance to the marche U there is a small shop which sell fresh rotisserie chickens and fried potatoes, which is highly recommended. Beach is good. St jean de Monts is a lovely place and well worth a visit, especially on market day.

Enjoy your holiday

Try asking on the French Answers site - there are a lot of them that speak English and you would get a good opinion. But do apologise to them first for not speaking French otherwise you'll get an earful!

I agree with the poster above...but if they give you an earful, call them "enfant chien's"
