How about the new artist Yael Naim? Her songs are the hottest in iTunes right now. She is an Israeli-French. She sings in Arabic, French and English. Her song "New Soul" is a smash hit on iTUnes... i highly recommend her.
Another popular French artist is named Jenifer. I really don't know much about her honestly, but my friend who lives in France loves her. So check her out if you can.
But then there are a variety of French music you can find on myspace..just go to:

but I think that it is for young from 15 to 20... but if you want to learn french it's a good way to learn....

When I lived in Switzerland (in the French speaking part) I liked the following artists, all R&B and hip hop, so I don't know what you're into, but they were always on TV and the radio:
Shy'm, Fatal Bazooka, Vitaa, Bob Sinclar, Kamini, TTC. They listen to a lot of American and British music too. Good luck!

Well, if you want something different and truly French try these. Charles Aznavour, Marielle Mathieu, and Edith Piaf.
It may look a bit old fashioned but these are truly French singers, who will last forever, and the music is wonderful!!!
