Looking for a decent hotel in Paris...?

Hey guys,

I am taking my mam to paris (hopefully in august) and i'm looking for a recommendation for a nice hotel? Doesnt need to be the ritz, just somewhere half decent. A friend of mine has been a few times and everytime she comes back she says the hotel was a hole :(

Any help would be great - thanks a million :)

Paris has two Hilton hotels, both of which are very good.
Both are very close to the main sights.
I have stayed at the one that is a few minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe. It was a lovely hotel.

Plus, you can make lots of jokes about staying in Paris Hilton!!!

I would without a doubt propose to you hotel tour d'auvergne in Paris. What I love the most about the hotel is its location, just a walking distance from Opera (shopping district in Paris), Montmartre (the famous amelie poulin's location) and Gare du Nord (In case you are arriving by Eurostar).

Located around the hotel is lots of concert venues, restaurants and bars. (Great nightlife around the area). this area is called SOPI (South of Pigalle) and definitely as great as SOHO in London.

You can go to the hotel's blog and check out the rooms, each of them is decorated differently. The theme of the hotel, music! and that's why lots of artist has been to the hotel.. Check it out!

The last time I stayed in Paris was at the Maciano Opéra Hotel it's nearby the Opera house, the big department stores, and the North and East Train Station, it's really well located, clean and lovely hotel.

Hotel Princesse Caroline is the best hotel i have stayed at. It is clean and the staff is very welcoming even if you don't speak french. The hotel is probably a block away from the Arc De Triomphe and the Champs- Elysees.

How much can you put into it? This will determine what kind of hotel you can go to.
