Bonjour,
you can try "Landes" cost, as "Capbreton, Hossegor Biscarosse"
as well you have a nice parc "La Reserve" at gastes (all the staff speak english) the parc it's near a big lac, at 15 km from the sea, in a meddle of big forest.

BONNE JOURNEE

How about Arcachon? It is a pretty little town, lots of shops, cafes, beach clubs and two roundabouts for kids. It is an inland area, so the water is safe, hardly any waves. The south west atlantic coast is better for water sports rather than swimming. We enjoyed a holiday there last year.
Look at www.arcachon.com
We also loved La Rochelle. A very lively town, lots going on along the waterfront in the evenings. However, the beach here was not the best.
You can cross to the Ilse de Re where there are excellent beaches.
Our top favorite is St Malo, but that is north France. It has the most fabulous safe beaches, rock pools, swimming pools, and plenty to keep kids busy. We have always been lucky with the weather there.
Have fun deciding.

Try Arcachon its not far from Bordeaux. Has lovely holiday atmosphere. Lovely beach and very family orientated.

If you want the area around La Tranche, then Les Sables-d'Olonne is bigger and livelier. La Trance sur Mer is one of our favourite spots, and can be reached easily for a day trip if you want just to revisit.

Try Biarritz, it is easy to get to - Ryanair fly there and it is close to Spain if you want to travel about a bit.
