Name the three locations of Disney resorts and what was Walt Disney's idea for creating Disney resorts?

So you've been given the locations (Southern California, Orlando, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Paris). Now as to the why...

The reason is two-fold. Story goes that Walt was spending some weekend quality time with his daughters. They would visit amusement parks and carousels. Walt would often find himself sitting watching the girls play, and thought it would be great if families had some place they could all enjoy at the same time, getting parents involved in playing with their children.

Around the same time, Disney Studios in Burbank was cranking out Mickey Mouse cartoons, as well as working on feature animation. Walt was getting letters from people wanting to visit Mickey's house. With his love of trains (he built a small but rideable train in his backyard) he started to develop a concept for a park across the street from the Studios in Burbank. However, the ideas kept coming and soon the proposed area was too small to encompass all Walt wanted to do (plus a nearby freeway construction plan would cut off part of the property).

Walt contracted a group to seek out an area large enough to create his vision of a park, with nearby access to freeways and airports, plus a healthy amount of projected local growth and Anaheim was chosen for Disneyland.

As to the other resorts, soon after Disneyland opened its doors the area began to be overloaded with motels and tacky shops and signage that Walt felt intruded on the guest's enjoyment of his fantasy park. He wanted to build a park with a buffer zone around it so the outside world could not intrude, and after scouting out Orlando for many of the same reasons Anaheim was chosen, began buying large tracts of land under assumed company names. And that was the start of Disney World.

Epcot, short for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, was Walt's vision for a live/work/play futuristic city, with planned mass transit systems and communal areas. Shortly after Walt's death, the Imagineers realized you couldn't market a residential area as an attraction (who'd want tourists in their yard every day?). Eventually two ideas came to the top: A park looking toward the future, science, and education, or a kind of permanent world's fair. Story goes that one day the folks in charge pushed the two models together, creating the Epcot we see today.

Disney resorts exist in California, Florida (the only two that were thought up by Walt before he passed away), Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo. As Walt said during the Florida project, "One thing we have in Florida that we did not have in Southern California - the blessing of size."

Walt Disney was already dead by the time these resorts came into being. So, he had no ideas.

There seem to be resorts located in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Orlando and Coronado Springs. There may be more in addition to these.

Although there are parks in Southern California, Orlando, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Paris. The only three parks that were Walt's idea were Disneyland in Anahiem (He wanted this to be an amusuement park that children and parents could enjoy together), Disney World in Orlando(He wanted this to be like Disneyland but better because it would be much larger and it would allow them to keep the illusion of being in another world much better) and E.P.C.O.T (although he had not planned on this being a theme park but instead a real working city).
