Need help picking a Paris hotel? |
We will be traveling to Paris. We need to stay in a Marriott hotel if possible. We could also stay in a Courtyard or Renaissance because they are owned by Marriott. We want to see the Eiffel Tour, the Louvre, etc. My son also wants to eat at a sidewalk cafe. I'd like to stay at the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe on 39 Avenue de Wagram but it is more expensive. We could stay for a lower price at the Marriott Rive Gauche or the Renaissance Paris La Defense. Please help. I don't know where to stay. Thanks so much!! |

I currently live in Paris, but until last year was based in the US and traveled back and forth, always staying in Marriotts here. I think Renaissance le Parc Trocadero is your best bet...charming hotel close to both Champs-Elysées and Eiffel tower, and convenient to just about everything else- plus it's in a wonderful neighborhood.
Marriott Rive Gauche is nice but in a mostly residential area- not much around it. Likewise Renaissance La Défense is in a business area (both have great access to public transit though).
The Renaissance you mentioned is new so I never stayed there but I know exactly where it is...while it's not necessarily very central, it's still a great and convenient location- so you probably can't go wrong with that one either.
I would advise against all of the Courtyards due to location and ease of access. |

The Renaissance Arc de Triomphe on 39, Avenue de Wagram would be alright as would be the Renaissance Paris Hôtel Le Parc Trocadéro at 55/57 avenue Raymond Poincaré.
However, I think the best located of the Marriot properties is the Renaissance Paris Vendôme Hotel at 4, Rue du Mont Thabor. Running second on location would be the Marriott Hotel Champs-Elysées at 70 Avenue des Champs-Elysées.
Frankly, if the limit of your expectations for Paris is eating at a sidewalk cafe then you could stay anywhere within Paris proper since you can't swing a cat without hitting a sidewalk cafe. |

Hello,
Marriott is a very good choice. Paris La Defense is a business center, very pleasant to visit during the day.
For tourism it is better to choose Marriott Rive Gauche. |
