A job as a barman is probably your best opportunity. There are a bunch of "Irish" pubs in Paris that you might check out. Then there's always teaching English as a second language. Otherwise the opportunities are few given the high unemployment rate. |

I really wish i can help you...
you see i'm french, and i came to England to find a good job, and make a good career. I didn't have the patience to be without a job for 2, 3 months.
Paris might be easier for you. try in the restaurant or bars like the other said, but if your french is good i think you should have a look to find something more interesting like a bilingual company! that would be a good experience for you and your mate.
Good luck!!! x |

You would do better away from the british community, therefore avoid Pubs and English book shops, after all, you want to improve your French.
Try supermarkets, shops, fast-foods and so on. Be aware that waiter is a "proper job" and you will often be asked for a NVQ if you decided to go for it.
Also consider interim work (Adia, Manpower, Randstat...).
Good luck. |
