You could spend the week in Avignon and do day trips to Arles, Marseille, Aix, and the Carmague. Avignon has a fast train connection to Paris, and is well-connected to the rest of France. |

I've been all over France and Nice was my favorite place!
Also, if you like old Cary Grant movies, you should watch To Catch A Thief. It's a classic and was filmed in Nice!
