Only three days in Paris. Le sigh. What's awesome there?

I'm visiting in early September from Canada and want to experience something other than the usual touristy stuff. I know I'll be visiting the Louvre and taking a day after Paris to go to Versailles. What's amazing to do during my short time in Paris?

Walk around the city; there are some beautiful parks eg Jardin Botanic (sp?), Tuileries; walk along the Seine; walk along the Canal St Martin; just sit outside a cafe and watch the world go by; wander around the Marais district where there are beautiful food shops and, of course, the Place des Vosges; the Catacombs (not open Monday). And something quite different, that many tourists overlook, is the Memorial to the Deportation of Jews in WWII, that is in the park just behind Notre Dame.

One of my favorite spots and pretty much everyone else swho lives there is the Jurden du Tuilleries. A huge beautiful park with two large fountains, sculptures, small outside restraunts, it leads to the Louvre. I love it, I could sit for ours, drinking my coffee and enjoying the scenery.

My other favorite place was the Sacre Coure. A huge cathedral on a hilltop with a spectacular view.

Buy a chocolate croissant (or ten), a baguette (or three) and go to a market to buy the fillings. Then just walk around or buy a ticket for the Batobus and ferry-ride your way along the Seine and take in the sights. The Louvre will take a day, even if you think you only want to see Mona, because there are tons of other famous paintings you'll recognize and not know they're in the Louvre. Versailles is expensive and if I only had 3 days, I'm not sure I'd put that on the top, but if like opulence, that's the place to go. If you go to Sacre Coeur, there's a street (forgot its name, but it's right at the base of the front stairs and there's tons of shops on it), where you can buy cheap souvenirs (or cheaper at least) of all the places you wish you had more time to visit!
