Paris Hotels - Help! so many to choose from.? |
My boyfriend and I are visiting Paris from 5th to 8th January - I'm trying to book a hotel, but there are so many to choose from I can't decide where to book.
Budget £40 - £50 per night, reasonable standard, near or easy to travel to main tourist attractions including Jim Morrison's grave, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
Any more suggestions of cool, cheap things to do, or decent inexpensive restaurants would also be much appreciated.
Thanks all. Jx |

I'll suggest you hotel Ascot Opera -rue Monsigny no.2. It's a small one, but in a safe area and very well located, just few steps to the main beauties of Paris. |

I would recommend Hotel Mistral in the Montparnasse area of Paris. I stayed there a couple of months ago. Rooms are small, like everywhere else, but very nice and clean. It is very close to a Metro station, which makes it easy to get to wherever you want to go. Rooms with shower for two people are about 72 euros (breakfast not included). For more info, check their website: http://www.hotel-mistral-paris.com |

I suggest my favorite hotel, the Hotel St. Andres des Artes at 66 rue St. Andre Des Artes in the 6th arr. Metro stop is Odeon.
Across the street from the hotel is the Mazet. Its the bar where Morrison is said to have had his last (public) drink. The hotel is right in the middle of everything in an area filled with inexpensive places to eat, student hangouts and clubs.
A double with breakfast included and ensuite WC and shower will cost you about 57 Britsh pounds a night.

You have plenty of choice from :
http://paris.c-lafrance.com/Hebergement/Hotels/
Use the searching engine to find according to your budget. Aim at ibis or novotel hotel for instance. Don't forget to get a hotel nearby one of the Porte (porte d'orléans, porte de bagnollet, porte de clichy, ...). The price is cheaper and they are away from the main spots at 15-20 minutes by bus-underground (buy a 10 ticket booklet for ten trips). Don't buy immediately a pass if you want to visit museums, eiffel tower, .. You won't have the time to travel enough before your pass is worth. Don't forget to consider the Open Tour Bus the day you want to go around Paris on a double deck bus |
