Paris, dinner cruise?

Hi,

I am going to Paris soon and have been looking into a dinner cruise on the Seine River. I am curious if anyone has done this before and if you have, what did you think and like/dislike about this experience? Also, when you go to buy tickets you have three different options. Service Etoile, Service Select and Service Premier, however, the differences between these are not really explained does anyone know? Thanks for all your help :)

Don't miss it. It is pricey but worth it depending on your company. If you are with a friend well uhhh...its rather romantic. Dinner was great, with live music in the background. And dancing as we cruised down the Seine was incredible. You know what happened when we go to the hotel.

The three options are seating, cocktails and wine.

Etoile, does not give you a window, no cocktail as the boat leaves the dock, and the wine is a glass of rotgut.

Select puts you and your partner at the window azing at each other and the sights slide by. A nice glass of chivas helps make it. A bottle of white and a bottle of red was placed on the table, not rotgut.

Premier puts you in the front of the boat to better see the sights as you approach. Better wine, cocktail before, and after dinner

I did select and was not let down, nor did I need anything further to drink after a cocktail and a bottle. The view was great. I would do select again, as I don't think the seat in premiere was much better.

Paris Traveler
We did this on our 30th Anniversary trip on Bateaux Parisiens. It was easy to book on-line well in advance and we selected the window table for €120 each. It was very nice and on our first evening in Paris. The food, wine and dinner were all excellent, the welcome was great and everyone very nice. There was constant live entertainment and we enjoyed the company of a nice young couple from Chicago seated next to us.

There is a dress code and we did notice some folks get turned away because they were not dressed properly, but they warn you about the dress code when you make the reservations that this is a nice affair. The dinner cruise lasts 2.5 hours and was very nice with good food, wine and entertainment. They also take professional photos of you at your table, but they are expensive at 20 euros per copy.

I recommend doing this trip and making a memory. The views from the diner table are nice, but you sit pretty low on the river and everything is up high so you only see the immediate area of the river. However you see Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower and when nightfall comes the city of lights comes alive in front of you. The Eiffel Tower was especially beautiful and sparkles at 5 minutes before the hour for 5 minutes and was awesome. I highly recommend Bateaux Parisiens for this trip. We loved everything about it and it was a perfect first evening for us. We were completely satisfied and would do it again without hesitation.
