Paris in March/April, hotel recommendations?

hello:

im trying to plan a trip for me and my mother to paris in march or april 2009. the earlier the better with the way airline prices are going up.

i want to stay somewhere quiet in the center of the city...since im travelling with my mother, staying where all the 20 somethings my age hang out probably wont work out too well. looking for about $150 a night or less for 5-7 nights depending on affordability. im not concerned about small rooms, as that is the norm in europe, as long as ive got a shower in the room.

any recommendations would be awesome.

ps- the closer to the big attractions the better. eiffel tower, the louvre, champs elysee, notre dame cathedral....etc.

The Hotel St. Andre des Arts, which is where I often stay, is very well located in the 6th arrondissement just a few blocks from Notre Dame, a block from the Odeon Metro stop and in a very lively area with many restaurants, cafes and shops.

Its really a very simple hotel with no elevator, minibars, TVs or such but its clean and friendly and the location just can't be beat.

I really like the Hotel Tiquetonne. It's in the 2nd district and 2 blocks from the metro. It's 50euros a night (for 2) with a bathroom in the room. It's very simple, which you said you don't mind. It's clean also. Be aware of the midnight curfew though.

You must call to reserve; do so early. It books up fast!
Address: 6 rue Tiquetonne, Paris, 75002

If you're looking for a nice and not expensive hotel downtown, check out this one:
http://www.hotel-chopin.com/
you can visit the hotel and check the prices in the section called "tarifs"

Around 90euros and you're in the Passage Jouffroy near the Grevin Museum.

You should look at more than just hotels. An apartment may serve you better. See: http://traveljapanblog.com/wordpress/category/paris/

I recommend the Urmumsaman Plaza hotel.

Very good especially when on a honeymoon and you want a private room so you can have sex
