Paris is expensive, but if you are okay with just looking, you can do alot there.
We were there only 1 day and this is what all we did for free.
Louvre- not going in to the actual musuem, but you can walk around the courtyard, which is huge and beautiful all on its own, and go down the stairs inside the pyraimid and walk around downstairs.
Notre Dame - This you can do for free, inside and outside, and is worth it. It is huge and beautiful.
Eiffel Tower - Its gonna cost about $25 each to go up it, and the lines are line, but I am sure it would be worth it. We just didnt have the money though. We went right before sundown and were there when they turned the lights on. Right after the lights fully come on, It sparkles like a Christmas Tree for about 5 minutes, If you are amazed by it in the daylight, it is twice as wonderful lit up, so go just before dark, best time for sure.
Avenue Des Champs - This is a very famous shopping street and also very expensive, but a cool place to walk around and visit and right near it is the Champs Elysees, Grand Palais, Arc De Triomphe Etoile, lots of beautiful buildings.
I dont know where you hotel is, there may be some great shopping places near it. The street up from our hotel had a lot of really great souvonier shops Tuileries. It is a cool street to walk up and down and okay prices on buying stuff too, plus its near the Louvre. I wouldnt advise eating here though, we stopped at a place and it wasnt too good. I dont remember the name, but it is the restaurant next to the staute of Joan of Arc.
When you are at a restaurant, if you drink Cokes or sodas, ask before you buy. We spent 16 Euros on 2 cokes, no refills. Thats about $24 on 2 cokes! I advise drinking water.
Also I really advise getting a 2 day tram pass. It will come in handy trust me. If you are both thinking you can walk everywhere, you will get tired fast, and if its raining it will be worse, plus you can always do the walking to and from the metro stations and up and down the streets where you shop and walk. The pass is about 5 Euros each for all day and are very worth the money.
Oh by the way, before we went everyone warned me how rude the french could be, however, I found everyone was quite helpful and nice. They are busy people and more fast paced then us, but if you are nice to them, they will be nice to you, so just ignore them if they seem rude and dont let it bother you. Stay polite and you will get what you need from them.
Have a great trip! Just enjoy yourself and enjoy the beautiful city of Love, definatley kiss your love at the eiffel tower, very romantic! |

view: the arc d'triomphe is less costly than the eiffel tower and has a better view (last year i believe i paid 8 euro for a walk up top). but you can walk around the eiffel tower & surrounding park for free & take pictures
bakery: it is probably illegal to have a bad bakery in paris. i suggest you blow your entire budget by eating your way around the city...
meals: other poster was correct - many restaurants have 'fixed price' menus where you can have a selection of courses based off of the prices (i.e, the 10 euro menu will have a little less selection than the 15 euro menu) and dessert. yum... other food options include buying bread at those aforementioned bakeries, and picking up some cheese and other tasty stuff at the stores such as bon marche. there's also a sandwich chain called brioche d'or that makes fresh sandwiches and desserts, where you can get a combo meal for around 6-7 euro.
louvre: it's less than 10 euro and the ticket is good for all day, even if you leave the museum for lunch
catacombs: think it's around 7 euro but interesting for young people who get bored...unless the rooms full of bones get monotonous to you after awhile
all day metro ticket = good idea |

Wher to eat: there are plenty of reataurants which have 'tourists menu' for around 15/20 euro's which is usually a 3 course meals. In Paris whichever bakery you go to they are all great. I would say have your main meal in the evening and in the day buy some fresh bread and meat and make sandwiches. You don't need to spend loads, because weather permitting you can split it into two days walking. Get an all day metro card to get you from your hotel!
You could start at Pl.de la concorde, walk to the top of the Champs Elysees until you get to the Arc de Triomphe. If its a nice day you could pay and go up to the top. The are great views of Paris from here. To the left of the Arc is a road called Avenue Kleber, if you walk down to the bottom it takes you to th Pl.du Trocadero which is opposite the Eiffel tower. You can walk from the tower along the river Which takes you back to the Pl.de la concorde. Here you can walk through the gardens which takes you to the Louvre. If you have time or feel like it.
From the Louvre walk north towards Notre Dame. You can get the metro to see the Sacre Couer. Its worth a visit.
There is loads more to see but it will be a hectic 2 days.
I would buy a map or look on line and plan your route walking for the 2days.
If you were less interested in Paris. Do one day sightseeing and take the train out to Disneyland for the day. To do this though will probably be more expensive if you are on a budget!
Whatever you do, Paris is great! |

I was in Paris today and i ate good for 4€.
To eat good and cheap you can go to breton crĂŞperies, greek fast foods, snacks, french restaurants too.
you'll find a lot of good bakery but i cant say you which is the best, in the Opéra quater (expensive but good), you'll have a lot of choices for the good bakeries.
And in the Saint Michel quater, you'll find a lot of good snaks and greek restaurants, and you'll can eat in the Luxembourg garden, thats a wonderfull park. |
