Absolutely love Paris. I wish I could visit this beautiful city more than once a year.
This city doesn't always have to come with a price tag either.
Churches/Cathedrals/Houses of Worship don't charge. Notre-Dame Cathedral and Sacre Couer Basilica are two of the most beautiful places I've seen. The view from the steps of Sacre Couer is great...the city spreads out before you. The steps up to the Montmartre area offer great photo ops.
Strolling along the Seine is always a lot of fun. Sit on a park bench in one of the beautiful parks and people watch. Check out the Parc des Buttes Chaumont...The park is located in the 19th arrondissement at the Rue Botzaris and has two metro entrances: Botzaris and Buttes Chaumont. It has a waterfall, something you don't see every day in Paris.
You can see the Eiffel Tower for free...just have to pay to climb it. One of the best places for photos is just outside the Metro stop Trocadero.
Galeries Lafayette offers free fashion shows. Ride the escalator to the cafeteria and you get a nice panoramic view.
The Fragonard Perfume Museum is free...Take a free guided tour of a breathtaking Napolean III townhouse while learning about the history of perfume. The museum features perfumery objects from various time periods. It's certainly worth a visit to see the lovely home and decor alone.
I love to walk from the Louvre, through the Tuileries Garden and up Champs-Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. |

You can rent bikes from the RATP for very cheap I think,
There is also a big roller blading party that last about 3 hours, one on friday night, one on sunday afternoon which is free.
There are always fesitivals and concerts during the summer and a fair amount of free expos (hotel de ville has 2 at the moment). You need to pick up the Parioscope to give you better info. |

Well, like with all things, finding free things to do in a major city is not an easy thing to do (try find free things to do in NYC!!). However, a nice stroll around the Canal St Martin, walking in the Tuileries Garden, parking your car in the streets of Paris in August is free too, the first sunday of the month museums are free, and possibly meeting the love of your life as you are walking place du tertre in Montmartre... |

You can go see monuments without actually going in the buildings. some museums are free the last sunday of every month. |

When I went to Paris I was a lot younger however. I loved walking down the roads and watching the way people act. The best road to walk is the Champ-Elysees. Go from The Louvre to the Arc De triumph. There are three Arcs down the road. Also if you get the chance by the Sacre Coeur Chapel there is a lot of hustle around all the locals selling their goods. Its beautiful. If you have a few extra dollars go see the Picasso Museim in the Jewish Quarters. Worth the trip. Have a great time. Take tons of pics. The next time you go to France go to Southern France. Especially Nice. |
