Hi,
I would suggest a trip to Toulouse, Nice and Bordeaux.
Bordeax will be a good catch if you are into wine tasting. There is a long street in Bordeaux called Rue Ste-Catherine. It has some nice shops. Bordeaux museum of arts founded by Napolean Bonaparte is worth a trip.
Toulouse has a very famous boat called Occitania (L')
This wonderful boat that takes its way to the hundred-year-old Canal du Midi.
Nice has beautiful beaches. My favorite is Promenade des Anglais. This will be a nice getaway.
For more info on France, I suggest you contact primrose@koogra.com . She has a travel guide to France which might of be of interest to you. Her guide is available at following links

She can help you out book an apartment or hotel in France as well.
Regards,

I consider myself a world traveler and I stayed at a place in Nice that was quaint but INCREDIBLE. It was a bed and breakfast type place that was up on a hill just to the east of the harbor (maybe a ten minute walk to the harbor on foot) and it had a breakfast nook area with a few tables with an INCREDIBLE view of the Mediterranean crashing against the shore and a blow hole shooting water up. I wish I could tell you the name of it. The owners were super nice and waited on you hand and foot. My Dad and I spent HOURS just sitting in that little nook area, eating and visiting. Very relaxing. |

My suggestion would be to avoid Cannes, as mid october is a big time of year for the MIPCOM market (similar to the Cannes Film Festival, but geared toward TV instead of film) which caters to everybody in the television industry from around the world. During these conferences, Cannes becomes extremely busy and extremely expensive. Finding a hotel or apartment is next to impossible. Other than Cannes, you should be fine in any of the littler towns or villages, if you're looking for a quiet getaway for your honeymoon. |

Check out Carcassone for a day.
Some friends and I once rented a peniche (river boat that you don't need a special license for) and went down the canal de midi for a long weekend. It was fantastic because you see the countryside, stop and get out in the villages etc.
If you like History and hiking - check out the old Catar castles in the mountains near Spain
If you are on the atlantic, I'd add Biarritz to the list.
If you are in Nice - monaco is a day trip- nice train trip along the coast, and a chance to see how the other half lives. |

I'd suggest some time in Provence.
Town : Montélimar, Orange, Avignon, Aix en Provence, Nîmes.
There are Antiquity/Roman buildings, nice bed and breakfasts, the weather can still be hot, though there may be some Mistral (but it's typical there ;) ). Also plenty of the little villages around these big towns are worth to visit. |
